Chancen International, RwandaChancen International's Future of Work Fund (FWF) is a blended finance vehicle domiciled in the Kigali International Financial Centre (KIFC), Rwanda. The fund has secured investments from institutions including the US Development Finance Corporation, UBS Optimus Foundation (anchor investor), Klett Group, Kaizenvest, Ceniarth and Cassiopeia.
Chancen International is a non-profit organization offering marginalized youth in Africa access to high quality skills development through ethical education financing using Income Share Agreements (ISAs). Launched in Rwanda in 2018, the organization has proven the ISA model's sustainability in African markets with strong graduation and employment rates, and portfolio performance exceeding initial projections. The organization particularly focuses on women and rural youth. Chancen's rigorous partner selection process ensures education institutions deliver market-relevant skills with strong employment track records.
Executive team:
- Batya Blankers (Co-Founder and CEO) financed her BA studies through an Income Share Agreement in Germany, before launching the model in Africa. Blankers has successfully led the organization's growth from pilot to scale across four African countries.
- Ross Nathan (CFO) has 20+ years experience in African financial inclusion, serving in positions such as CEO, CFO, COO and consultant for development and financial institutions.
